| Calene is a visual artist based in Perthshire, Scotland working with textiles in a contemporary and innovative way. Recent work includes hand-sewn pieces on paper and semi-abstract felts. Calene experiments with colour, texture, shape and traditional craft techniques to create unique two-dimensional work. Inspirations include wildlife (real and imaginary), cartoons, scientific formulae, nostalgia, pop culture, graphics and early 20th century Japanese prints and fabrics. |
