fibre projects:

traditional skills of sewing and felt-making are adapted to suit my ideas, whilst allowing the techniques themselves to inform the work. While the definite line of the thread and the soft texture of the fibres sit well together, they are also fundamental to the finished work.

forms can suggest something familiar or appear abstract; creatures can be real or imaginary. "Bolt" is my first piece to include a distinctly recognisable shape. This is my version of the 'horse montage' illustrations from childhood books coupled with fond memories of Fuzzy Felt animals.
