paper projects:

drawing with thread: the process begins with the creation of a basic outline using a series of holes and the odd coloured shape. Strands of thread are used to build up colour, texture and form. This can be done by hand or on the sewing machine, or a combination of both. I try to retain an element of spontaneity by avoiding planning too much in advance, preferring to wait and see where the line takes me. This has resulted in a series of playful and decorative small-scale pieces called "Creatures and Diagrams".
